Saint Name Resources: It is custom that children or adults preparing for confirmation select a Christian name. The guidelines in the Gift from on High Confirmation & First Eucharist Policy reminds us “A Confirmation candidate is strongly encouraged to be confirmed under his or her baptism name, or in accordance to the past custom of the Church, select the name of a biblical, beatified, or canonized person as recognized by the Church.” Here are some samples of what could be used to help children and adults research and choose a new name. 1) Catechist Congress: Still room, but filling up fast. We have approximately 400 spaces in English and Spanish and expect to have over 600 in attendance. Great speakers, and publishers displays. 2) Catechetical Symposium: Please plan on attending KINO Institute’s Inaugural Catechetical Symposium “Essential Themes for an Evangelistic Catechesis”. This event will be a wonderful opportunity to focus on the major themes and elements of effective evangelization and catechesis.

4) Save the Date: “Theology of the Body for Teens” Leader Training: The widely used Theology of the Body for Teens program will have a training day with nationally recognized speaker Damon Owens on Jan 22nd at St. Andrew’s. Flyer

5) Multi-parish Youth Retreat Last Call: The February 25th-27th Diocesan wide Youth Retreat is being finalized. Flyer RSVP Form

6) World Youth Day: There is still room on the YAI Pilgrimage, and Youth in Europe is willing to work with individual parishes. The dates this year conflict with the US School schedule, however many parishes are bringing Young Adults, newly married couples and even young working professionals are asking if they can go. Consider taking a small group to Madrid for 2011.
